As mentioned earlier, this blog is for all those hard-working people who have recently been fired. However, please keep names and 4-letter words to yourself. Use fake names if you must but no real names.
Anyhow, I sure hope you find some work soon. Maybe this is your calling to start your own business. Feel free to share that info with us too, as long as it's G-rated. And a big warm welcome to all you mobile fans out there!
Thanks and see you at the next post.

Rant about your job loss
Are there any good jobs in America?
I'm sure that there are plenty good jobs in America, but I haven't come across any yet. There are only two kinds of jobs in my mind, those for the educated and those for the uneducated. And if your not educated in a college and can produce a diploma, then you're really not educated at all. Hiring managers hardly look at a resume without college degrees anymore. That is unless you're applying as a crew member at McDonald's.
So not only does the lower class and uneducated or undereducated have problems getting good jobs, they also have trouble getting good pay. This really leads to a snowball affect where persons go from job to job trying to get that 50 cent raise they couldn't get at the last job. Sometimes it gets so bad that they have to decide between food and medication because their pay never keeps up with inflation.
Does that sound fair? Of course not.

Temps loose jobs first
There's been several times in my life where I had to work for a temp agency since I was unable to find a job on my own. But one particular incident really upset me because I wanted to keep my job so badly. It was the time I worked for a semi-conductor testing plant as a computer operator in the sales office. I did troubleshooting, filing, faxing, typing, maintained the copiers and organized a filing system for computer diskettes. I maintained the customer database and provided daily spreadsheets of our sales statistics.
I was even approached by my supervisor to start a project of finding and hiring someone to scan all of our important documents for preservation.
Next thing I know, a new president was hired with the company and he decided to cut back on help. Well, the word was out that all temps were going to be cut first. I was really worried as I needed the job to pay some very important bills.
So, I organized a very impressive speech that I would present to this new president and try to convince him that he would need me. I made an appointment to see him and told him about everything I do for the company and that it would take a lot of money and training to teach someone else. Well, it didn't work.
I was handed a pink slip and left.
I thought that this job was my foot in the door to bigger and better things, and most importantly, stability. But again, I was unemployed.

I lost my job to a single person
I was working for a local newspaper when one day I was called into the office by my supervisor. She proceeded to tell me how good my work was but that the manager didn't really like me and wanted me fired. The had recently hired a girl who was in college and said that she needed the job more than I did because I was married. She handed me a pink slip and I went home.
A month later, my job was listed in the newspaper.
It was then that I realized that there is no job security. If you don't make money on your own, you're at the mercy of others who don't really care about you. And that's something I never wanted to rely on ever again.

Did you loose your job?
If you did, then you'll enjoy this blog because this is the place to come and vent your frustrations. Here in America, it seems as if there is no hope for the middle and lower income families anymore and I share your pain.
If you live someplace other than America, feel free to chime in and voice your frustrations too. Joblessness is not just an American problem, it's a global problem. Nobody likes to loose their job.
